Setting off fireworks is always entertaining, whether in the real world or in Minecraft. However, Minecraft's fireworks have a few advantages: not only are they easier to craft, but they can also be used to glide.

How to craft fireworks in Minecraft.

In Minecraft, there are two ways to craft fireworks, depending on whether you want the fireworks to explode or not — in other words, whether you want them to behave like real fireworks.

All you need is one unit of paper and one to three units of gunpowder to make a non-exploding firework. Paper may be crafted by mixing three sugar cane units, and gunpowder can be found by killing Creepers, Witches, and Ghasts.

However, if you want to put on a true fireworks display, you'll need an explosive firework. You'll still need paper and gunpowder to craft this, but you'll also need one "firework star."

One unit of gunpowder can be combined with any color dye to make fireworks stars. The color of the explosion is determined by the dye you apply.

Once you've gathered all of your materials, place them on your crafting table grid in any order. You'll get three fireworks for every unit of each ingredient you utilize

What can you do with fireworks in Minecraft?

In Minecraft, you can utilize fireworks for three different purposes.

You can start by setting them off. When you light a firework on a non-air block, it will fly straight up and explode (assuming you attached a firework star). Dispensers and crossbows can also be used to fire them. This is what you're searching for if you want to put on your own fireworks spectacular.

Second, you can fly with them. If you have a pair of Elytra wings, you're probably aware that they only allow you to glide, not fly. However, if you use your Elytra while lighting a firework, you'll get a big speed increase in the direction you're facing. You can fly for miles if you have enough fireworks and don't crash.

Each firework will give you a big speed boost — just watch where you’re going.

A quick tip: Flying is the one thing that you'll want to use non-exploding fireworks for. If you set off an exploding firework while you're gliding with Elytra, you'll get the speed boost, but you might also take damage from the explosion.

Finally, you may discharge fireworks as crossbow ammunition. You can use either exploding or non-exploding fireworks in this situation, but only the exploding ones will do damage.

When you hit an opponent with the fireworks in Minecraft: Java Edition, they will explode. However, in Bedrock Edition, they will pass through adversaries and only detonate after they strike the ground or reach their time limit, requiring you to aim more carefully.
